Pumpinheart Limited has developed an implantable heart pump to treat patients with advanced heart failure. Advanced Stage Diastolic Heart Failure, with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF), presents as breathlessness even at rest and there are over two million patients at this advanced stage in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The core problem is elevated cardiac pressures due to chronic hypertension in the left atrium of the heart during the resting phase of the cardiac cycle.
